The Nurse

Night falls over the trenches of World War I. The shelling never ends. The sky cracks open from the violence. Hidden in the woods, an English field hospital waits for the maimed and maddened to come. 

A nurse wakes. She stands in the mud, disoriented and with blurred vision. What has happened to her? Where is her beloved friend, Nancy? The night feels real. But is it?
